Beaches and history make for fun on holiday in Algarve
People who visit the Algarve for a holiday have the opportunity to enjoy a mixture of beautiful beaches, rich history and fun activities.
That is just what Louise Morrish, a tourist recalling her experiences in a letter to the Daily Telegraph, did and she says it was well worth the effort.
She notes the fort at Sargres is a particular highlight, as well as Portugal's most south-west spot at Cape St Vincente, where the views are especially picturesque.
"The best beaches for all the family are Bordeira - great for surfing, but with a river inlet providing still, clear, warmer waters – Ingrina, Figueira and Zavial," Ms Morrish states.
She recommends heading to spots that are not overrun with tourists, all desperate to make the most of their holiday in the Algarve.
People heading to the south of Portugal will soon have another travel option, after British Airways confirmed it will run a service between London City Airport and Faro.
