Algarve villa holidays a 'family favourite'

Booking a cheap villa in The Algarve is likely to be a popular holiday choice among family members owing to its friendly traditions.

Popular all year round thanks to its warm and temperature climate, cheapflights.co.uk recommends visiting Portugal's southernmost destination during the Easter holidays, when a number events are laid on for children.

These include egg hunts, which are organised across The Algarve, while Portugal's famous sweet tooth is "never far away".

During April, it is customary to eat Folar de Pascoa, a traditional sweet bread that signifies Jesus' sharing of food during the last supper.

Those on an Algarve holiday can get involved with the tradition in between spending time on southern Portugal's stunning, family-friendly beaches.

Family members need never get bored, either. While mum can sunbathe in the shore and the kids can play in the sand, dad can practise his strokes at one of the nearby golf courses, many of which enjoy world renowned reputations.

A family villa in Albufeira is often families' first choice, with the resort boasting everything a family could need including golden beaches, excellent restaurants and a range of nightlife.
