Algarve 'offers attractions apart from golf courses'
According to David Brice of Golf International, the Portuguese hotspot has a considerable number of top-quality golf courses to its name.
Speaking to PGATour.com, he said the area has become very popular with golf aficionados as a result, particularly as it offers good weather all year round.
However, Mr Brice stated that treats such as its good food, entertainments and natural beauty should not be overlooked.
"It may be golf that first attracts you to this special part of a very special country, but once there, you will quickly learn the Algarve is blessed with much more," he commented.
Mr Brice recommended that visitors to the region make the most of their trip and enjoy as many of the local treats as they can during their stay.
This comes shortly after media reports suggested that Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie is considering buying a home in the Algarve with film star husband Brad Pitt.
