Silves in Algarve
This fascinating historical town is situated on the banks of the River Arde, dominated by the ruins of an ancient castle still bearing the scars of battle against Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans and Moors. The surrounding countryside is masked with picturesque houses set into hillsides which boast stunning views over lush citrus groves.

The villa was super and the owner lovely. It was extremely well equipped in the kitchen and generally. We very much enjoyed our stay. The nights were, however, very hot and fans(described in details but not noticed by us until we returned) would have made things much more comfortable.
