Resort: Playa Blanca in Lanzarote
A pretty, bustling resort with a sandy beach and popular promenade, Playa Blanca is the most southerly resort on the Island of Lanzarote and is only 15 kilometres from the Timanfaya National Park. There are four stretches of shoreline, and close by is the nature reserve of Papagayo which hosts the best beaches on the island. The resort has a large harbour shared by fishing boats and ferries that take you to Fuerteventura. Take a water taxi from central Playa Blanca to the Marina Rubicon; home to smart yachts moored in a private marina. Pavement cafés and good seafood restaurants offer a relaxing atmosphere in which to unwind in the evening. "3rd visit with James Villas, but upgraded this year to "the best of" and found the service even better.
The villa was outstanding, but the pool could have been bigger and deeper as space in the garden was not an issue.
The only 2 downsides were the surprise at an intruder alarm that went off when we arrives that we did not know about and also that because of the lawns in the garden and perhaps the cooler weather mosquetos were a problem. "
