The charming fishing village and harbour of Sami, lies on the east coast of Kefalonia and is the gateway to the mythical island of Ithaka which sits in directly opposite. Surrounded by an awe-inspiring backdrop of mountains, Sami is famed for being the main town in the filmset of Captain Corelli's Mandolin. The village's harbour offers a fantastic selection of local tavernas providing fresh catches of the day, brought in by the local fishermen, and the villages centre where you sit in one of the cafes and watch the locals go about their daily business.
