Resort: Lourdas in Kefalonia
The small, secluded resort of Lourdas lies on a steep hill below rugged Mount Aenos, with stunning views out to the sea and over to Zakynthos. The centre of the resort is the village of Lourdata, where typical cafes and tavernas line the picturesque, shady square. From here, you take the steep, winding road down to the lovely beach – one of the longest on the south coast of Kefalonia – where sand and pebbles lead into clear turquoise waters. If you fancy exploring, you can take a stroll along the coast to neighbouring beaches, or a boat trip to the islands of Ithaca and Zakynthos.
"We thought you undersold the villa somewhat. It was quieter and more secluded than we were led to believe from the web description "
Mr HUTCHINS, Waterlooville, August 2011
"The villa was extremely clean, and even though we were only there for one week, we had maid service part way through our stay, to change bed linen and towels. The villa was exactly as described on the website and had every facility one could possibly want. It was in an extremely quiet location, and you were not overlooked at all, here were only a couple of other villas in the vacinity. Car hire is a very good idea though, especially if you are going during peak season, as the temperatures are such that it is not pleasant to walk anywhere. An excellent proprty though, and the owners couldn't do enough for us! "
Mrs Hughes, Egham, August 2011
"The cleanliness of the villa was lovely, we could not fault it, also the fresh flowers were a very nice touch. The owners obviously took a lot of care in the upkeep of the villa. "
Miss Rook, South Croydon, August 2010
"Extremely clean (wish all the villas were this clean - we had an experience in Menorca with a dirty villa). Even the outside spaces were clean (we normally end up washing the patio floors as your feet get black)!. Lovely location, nice owner. Perfect. (well almost... a new villa being built just a few feet away meant we were woken every morning to the sound of lorries and building works... which was a bit upsetting since we had just left our house with an extension being built and had suffered all this noise). If it wasn't for the building works, and this will not be for ever, a very quiet holiday, superb beaches easy to reach, a handful of lovely restaurants. Yes we will be booking for next year. G Rook "
