Resort: Issigeac in Dordogne
Issigeac is to the south-east of Bergerac in the Perigord Pourpre region. The current town was largely built in the middle-ages, with buildings from the 13-16th century though its origins are much earlier. There are signs of pre-historic life, it was the site of a Roman Villa and in the 10th century there was a monastery here. Home to a weekly food market, where you can sample locally produced foods and mix with the locals. During July and August the weekly Marché nocturne (night market) takes place, typical of many local villages in the area, with various food stalls and tables set out in the town square in front of the church, offering a fantastic atmosphere.Other properties in Issigeac
