Ghasri is Gozo’s smallest village and is dominated by Ta Gurdan Lighthouse standing 180m above sea level on a flat topped hill, high above the village. A steep path leads up to the lighthouse, with the reward of spectacular 360 degree views across the island. The village lies nestled between the hills of Zebbug and Ghammar overlooking the Ghasri Valley, which is ideal for walkers and cyclists alike. The scenery ends in a beautiful tight gorge dropping into the sea, a sight popular with divers.

Nightlife in the area of Victoria

Although Gozo is a relaxed island, a few clubs can be found in the capital. The Gozitan way of life is traditionally slow-paced and so many enjoy the evening at a good local restaurant with a bottle of wine. there are many restaurants and bars to choose from in the city centre, suitable for all tastes. As a cultural hub, theatre and recitals are very popular in the area, and you can often find a jazz concert or play going on in one of the theatres or churches.

Excursions and Places of interest

Vineyards

Sample some great Gozitan wine or take part and learn about the harvest at the Ta Mena estate. As well as wine, the estate produces great jams and fresh olives, all from local produce. You can buy a bottle to take back to the villa with you, which will beautifully compliment the fresh seafood available on the island.

Natural areas of beauty

The Azure Window is probably one of the most photographed locations on the island, and very popular with visiting tourists. It is a natural rock formation, as the result of collapsed ancient underwater caves, leaving a 'window' or an archway.

Regions to visit

Ta’ Dbiegi Crafts Village near Gharb (the oldest village on the island) is a great place to by some Gozitan lace, pottery, lace and glass as a souvenir of your holiday.
