Panicale is a pretty, medieval hilltop town in Umbria situated very close to Lago di Trasimeno, the scene of Hannibals miltary successes and eventual defeat versus the might of the Roman Legions. The village is dominated by the hilltop fortress and the main square, or Piazza, is a delightful place to eat at the pavement cafes or spend a relaxing evening listening to jazz whilst enjoying a cool drink.
Just a short drive from the shores of historic Lake Trasimeno and within easy driving distance of the Umbria - Tuscany border Casale Il Mandorlo is situated ideally for those who wish to explore this beautiful area of central Italy. For those days when the swimming pool and gardens are enough, however, then Il Mandorlo offers a lovely setting with lawned gardens and flower beds offering splendid panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys. There is a conservatory terrace ideal for evening meals whilst the gazebo at the pool side provides a wonderful spot for lunch. Inside, the house offers tasteful and comfortable accommodation with a well equipped kitchen, large spacious lounge and diner and charming, stylish bedrooms.
