Resort: Latchi in Cyprus
Set on the island's north west coast, the picturesque fishing village of Latchi lies on the edge of the beautiful Akamas National Park. The village offers the ideal place for relaxation with its laid-back lifestyle, whilst quiet shingle beaches stretch along the shore. The coastal road separates the clear blue seas, pretty shoreline and local amenities from the surrounding lush green countryside. At the harbour, sit back and enjoy a seafood meal in one of the harbour side tavernas and watch the boats depart.
"We loved this Villa and Latchi. We are a family of 4, with kids of 10 & 12. This is a detached villa in a small close of about 6 villas. This one is at the top and has the best views of all the villas, looking out to sea and the mountains.
It is a very short stroll down to the very quite (pebbly) beach and there is a lovely, lit, paved path that goes all the way (almost) to Latchi harbour, where all the restaurants are. The walk from the villa to the restaurants in Latchi harbour takes about half an hour, but is lovely. When you get to the end of the path the harbour is straight in front of you but the path stops short. Keep walking, take a left at the end of the path, for a few feet, then right over a very small bridge and then right again and into the harbour car park and keep walking a few more feet until you reach the boats in the harbour. You can then turn left and follow the harbour a few more feet to where the restaurants are. Take torches with you though because when you come home there are parts that aren't lit and it can be pitch black.
Of all the restaurants in Latchi our favourite by far is Sea Crest. They had nice friendly staff, reasonable prices and certainly had the best quality food. We even got 10% off with a voucher in the local free tourist booklet we picked up in Latchi harbour. They even had live Bazokki music one night, which was fabulous.
We went in August and there was a nice buzz in the evenings but we had no problems getting a table for dinner at around 8.30pm.
For food shopping you will need to go to Polis, which isnt very far and has a large supermarket with great choice.
We were warned about power and water cuts due to the power station problems but we had neither. "

"We all had a fantastic holiday and the villa was absolutely lovely except for the beds which were VERY hard. The only reason we would not stay at the villa again is that we prefer to try different locations and destinations, but we would definately recommend it to others. "

"Of the three villas we have stayed in this was the best. It was spacious and the outside veranda was ideal - as it was always in the shade making outside eating comfortable. The view, over the Med. was amazing. Although it appears to be the norm for Cyprus we would have preferred to have had the air conditioning included in the price. "
