Resort: Calpe in Costa Blanca
Calpe is a popular, bustling resort, best known for its balance of historic Valencian culture and modern tourist facilities. Three glorious sandy Blue Flag beaches are divided by the dramatic, craggy height of the Peñón de Ifach rock which stands over 300 metres tall and can be seen for miles, providing a fantastic landmark up and down the coast. On one side is the harbour with its fantastic choice of restaurants, while on the other is the resort centre filled with shops, bars and array of night-time entertainment. Calpe is ideally positioned in the centre of the Costa Blanca’s coastline, making it an ideal base for exploring the delights of this part of Spain, whether it is countryside, architecture, water parks or beaches you seek! We were a bit surprised with the actual depth of the swimming pool as we expected a bit more of a graduation as it was very deep even in the shallow end.
