Built in classic Portuguese farmhouse style, the property has recently undergone a thoughtful, loving restoration, introducing modern facilities and luxurious touches that have greatly enhanced its charming original character. Light floods in through huge patio doors on two sides of the vast living and dining area where a traditional fireplace and bread oven, terracotta tiles and carefully chosen pieces of period furniture sit comfortably with cream leather sofas and pristine white walls. An elegant dining suite provides a lovely setting for a cosy family dinner.

In the bright, well-fitted kitchen there’s a quirky antique table and chairs for casual breakfasts and snacks while the shaded terrace outside the living room offers delightful alfresco dining with breathtaking views. A covered kitchen and barbecue area allows guests to make the most of the outdoor lifestyle and balmy summer evenings watching spectacular sunsets over a chilled glass of vinho verde.

Downstairs in the basement you’ll find a large bathroom with bath, shower and a fabulous modern sauna to increase your holiday wellbeing. There are four spacious bedrooms in the main house, all simply yet tastefully furnished and boasting walk-in wardrobes and beautifully fitted en suite bath or shower rooms. A furnished balcony on the first floor is an idyllic spot for a star-gazing nightcap or to savour the view over early morning coffee.

A secluded rustic cottage by the pool, attractively restored with an exposed timber ceiling and cool terracotta floor, contains an additional shower room and lounge area. Through a gate and down a set of steps is the large, enticing swimming pool, surrounded by fragrant shrubs, exotic palms, native olive trees and a sun-drenched terrace.

Guests could be forgiven for never wishing to leave the peace and quiet of this gorgeous estate, however it’s just a ten minute drive to the resort of Albufeira and even less to the local villages of Guia and Paderne so you can easily eat out whenever you feel like it. Golfers are within easy reach of some of the most prestigious courses on the Algarve while lovely sandy beaches are less than 20 minutes away.
